In winter 2014/15 I was a staff photographer for Niseko Photography, based in Niseko on Japan’s northern island, Hokkaido, famous for it’s consistently incredible snowfall and therefore high volume of epic powder days in winter.

The role primarily involved guiding and photographing clients in and around Niseko, Japan. Beside resort environments, we would also regularly operate in the backcountry, utilising snowshoes, splitboards and snowcats to access the best terrain and snow.

Getting the best action shots possible of the customers was a high priority and same-day turnaround required precise and efficient editing. Shooting was not limited to the snow however, with portraiture, travel, landscape and family photography also being a part of my responsibilities.
